“ Oak’s fourth album, The Third Sleep, continues the lyrical progression started on The Quiet Rebellion of Compromise, plunging even deeper into the shadowy corridors of consciousness. The material is presented in an allegorical, poetic manner, leaving room for interpretation within certain boundaries.

Unlike its introspective predecessor, this record also looks outward. Its socially critical lyrics demand the listener’s full attention and an ability to read between the lines. The compositions are marked by extensive use of modal scales, intricate vocal harmonies, and polyrhythms. One of the primary goals was to employ these techniques so they feel natural and engaging - never forced or overly complex - allowing the music to flow freely, captivate the listener, and simultaneously challenge them with multiple layers to explore.

Genre-wise, The Third Sleep spans a broad spectrum - from folk-tinged acoustic rock to a brutal sound verging on black metal - yet it always maintains a clear through-line and a unified musical identity.
